Design Services:
QMS has developed skills from both formal education and interaction with (or management of) the engineering disciplines. Our work within commercial, industrial and high-tech (microelectronics, biotechnology, datacenters, laboratories, etc.) has exposed us to work requiring the close collaboration of multi-discipline team and dealing with aggressive schedules.
All of the aforementioned work was/is performed while being "safe and secure - by design."

Architecture and Planning:
We've over 20 years of specialization in Industrial and High-Tech design. The focus of the firm has been working challenging design projects that deal with efficient space allocation and the proper design of spaces containing and utilizing hazardous materials and energy. In addition, we've focused our expertise on making spaces effective "crime fighters" by applying CPTED principles. This field that blends architecture with criminology can be extremely cost effective by implenting crime deterrence measures that will enhance the perceived/ measured value of the property.

Code Analysis
QMS Consultants specialize in the customer/ process adaptive re-use of structures. There are challenging, [often non-compliant] structures that require analysis vis-à-vis the International Building Code family. Our firm can perform an analysis outlining your building’s possible occupancy uses. Our projects have included the University of California Santa Cruz (re-use from H-6 occupancy to B occupancy with educational laboratory use) and Intel Corporation’s Santa Clara campus improvements, tool installs and consolidation projects.

Peer Review
A substantial number of projects, either due to their design intricacy or extensive capital investment, will benefit from the use of secondary design overview (CSA = Architectural, Landscape, Civil, Structural drawings and specifications). Our firm can act as Owner´s Representative (or Construction Management Advisor) and scrutinize the documents for completeness while assessing whether or not the documents achieve design intent and optimum performance. Sample project reviews include Intel Folsom´s FM-8, CA and a bio-tech lab for Alza Corporation, Vacaville, California.

Programming / Space Layout
Architectural and MEP firms are geared to efficiently generate construction documents. Our firm will complement your services by performing the programming, conducting end user interviews and by generating space/utilities matrix usage analysis. We’ll "plug-and-play" with your facilities and/or design team and aid in your space utilization layout effort. Of course, as licensed professionals, we are capable of desining a project from inception ("problem-seeking" phase) through construction implementation.
